Hmmmmm. You are probably wondering “What is this mystery ingredient? And why is it so important to add to my diet?”
Well you may be surprised to know that it is the humble little CABBAGE. If you don’t eat cabbage regularly, now is the time to start. Red or white, raw or cooked. You’re bound to like it any which way.
First, let me explain to you WHY you should eat more cabbage:
–Cabbage is one of only two vegetables that is a mainstay for the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes
–It contains 20 different flavonoids and 15 different phenols all of which add up to LOTS OF ANTIOXIDANTS and ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PROPERTIES
–You won’t break the bank purchasing cabbage–it’s very inexpensive!!
–The glucosinolates in cabbage help prevent cancer, especially bladder, colon and prostate cancers
–Your digestive tract is greatly supported by eating cabbage
–Cabbage is an excellent source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Vitamin B6 and a very good source of fiber
SO now that you understand how beneficial to your body it is to eat cabbage, you’re ready to try it! Here are some of my FAVORITE cabbage recipes.
